Dorset

Last week-end we went to Dorset to visit my in-law. On Saturday the weather was beautiful and hot and we found a little beach with very few people. It was so relaxing!

On Sunday we went for a lovely walk on the Jurassic Coast. We started our walk from the village of Tyneham.  Tyneham has a very particular and sad history. In 1943, with only 28 days notice, the villagers were told that they had to leave their homes because the area was needed for Force training. They were promised that they would have been able to return home after the war but sadly this never happened and village was never again inhabited.

In the Church and the school (that has been restored) there is an exhibition about the village and the villagers but unfortunately it started to rain heavily and we went back home….we’ll  have to go back, it’s a wonderful place!

A presto,

Francesca
